Fingerprints and Signatures

We were able to get fingerprinted by the FBI and turn in our i600A on Friday. You can read more about that particular adventure over on my Sonlight Blog.

So, things are moving forward.

Well, sort of.

They've also moved a step or two back. See, we were able to get our medical reports notarized and everything, but then the papers were sent back stating that because the notary had not included her middle initial on the forms they were not acceptable.

Huh?

You've got to be kidding me. The whole point of a notary is so "they" can identify the person who said that, yes, this paper really was signed. ...so how can they be so mucked up by a missing initial?

Oh sure, I realize that it would be more proper to have every T crossed and every i dotted, but... seriously? So, now we have to find a time to go back to the doctor, have her re-fill out the form and get it notarized again... meaning we have to drag someone along for that too. <ugh>

Frustration.

But now that the 10th has passed, there's no longer any pressure. So, stress levels are down. But there's also less hope and direction too, so things feel more apathetic.

I would have posted a sweet picture of my thumbprint, but I couldn't get the scanner to pick it up as well as the FBI's sweet new digital print scanners, and we couldn't find any ink. Sorry team.

  4. Hi Luke;

Oh, the notary stuff can make your head spin for sure. My husband's doctor actually used one that wasn't even a notary...that's not even funny. Sorry that you hit some paper trouble. May God's hand be upon you and may He make your path straight.

Thank you for popping in on occasion and praying for us...really, it blessed me deeply each time, mainly I guess because I knew it was coming from your heart. Thank you from mine.

God bless you and expand your boundaries in new ways.

  7. ryc: I understand what you are saying. It can be a little.... whats the word... well, maybe it's worrisome, when you feel that maybe you aren't as passionate as you were when we things first began to be revealed to you.

I "accepted Christ" when I was about 10, but had no understanding.. and was a little pressured. I had no revelation, but was still very excited because it meant more responsibility in the fellowship I belonged to.

So, when I really got to know God- when the change really began, it was much more powerful and more than just emotion and "excitement".

Sometimes I worry that maybe I've lost my passion- which is why I believe we are encouraged to "watch and pray" and to stay in the Word, and to "wear it on our necks"... so that we don't drift.

  8. Thanks for the heads up on the source for the hilarious comic I posted on my blog. I have added a post sharing the original web site, along with a link to your blog. It pays to be informative I guess!

  9. Mrs. C, we actually haven't had any contact with the kids yet. I don't even know if they know they've been "spoken for." Crazy world.

Mandy, you crack me up <smile>.

Kristina, I haven't had bread in a while, so I haven't had a chance to gag on the vegemite...

Kimmie, you are most welcome. It is an honor to be able to be an active part of the blogosphere!

Andrea, you always make me smile. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you all for your support! I really appreciate it.
