Not sure how I ran across your blog (through some kind of endless chain of adoption blogs, no doubt!), but I just had to comment because this post made me smile.
My husband and I are adopting from Ethiopia, and even though we're very early in the process, I'm already trying to convince him of the inestimable benefits we'll derive from buying a Wii!
Helps with dexterity and coordination? Check! Good for general fitness? Yeah!
And is it just downright awesome for a prospective adoptive mom who still busts out her original Nintendo on occasion and plays Super Mario 3 marathons? Most definitely! Hehe... =)
So kudos on your new purchase, and enjoy! Hope it provides a much-needed break from all the adoption paperwork!
Hey, Luke. Thanks for visiting. It's always nice to get a male perspective. It's a bit of a hen party out my way.:D
As for vegemite ~ you have to be *to the Manor born* but may I suggest lots & lots of butter with the vegemite spread very, very thin. It's the best way to eat it ~ perhaps the only way. Lay it on thick as you usually would with a spread & it will have you gagging. OK, I'm done.
We really have enjoyed it so far. I can tell that my 4-year old is gonna have all the buttons figured out in no time. That's just interesting for me to watch. We really like that we can all play as a family. Plus, I think we'll make up the cost of the wii just by playing the bowling game over and over. I mean, if we actually went to a bowling alley, we'd come out a lot lighter in the pockets than we went in, its gotten a bit crazy at those places! ;)
Awesome! We don't have any gaming systems and until the Wii I have not been tempted. That Wii Fit has me considering the possibilty of maybe one day owning one. You will have to let us know how you like it.
My wife likes it. I'm not much of a gamer, myself. But, honestly, it doesn't get as much play time as would be needed for any health benefits. We don't have Wii Fit yet though... so... yeah.

Nice Splurge. I hope she has a blast with it!! You are a good man! :)
HEYYYY!! Congrats on a great purchase! Patrick loves his.
Thanks for the encouragement! I really hate spending money, so it's nice to hear people not saying, "Wow, what would Dave Ramsey say?"
...Well, if he said anything I would tell him that it is coming out of our Party Tithe, but that doesn't make it any easier for me to spend the dough.
It's a growth area for me.
Thanks again for commenting!
